The Role:
Are you an experienced cardiology nurse ready to step into a role where your specialist expertise can transform patient outcomes across the entire care continuum? We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Clinical Specialty Nurse (CSN) to join our dynamic Cardiology Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence clinical practice, lead innovation, and support excellence in cardiac care for one of Aotearoa’s most diverse and vibrant communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Expert Clinical Care
- Deliver advanced specialist nursing assessment and care for inpatients with heart disease.
- Triage and evaluate complex referrals, develop care plans, and ensure seamless coordination across the health continuum.
- Apply critical thinking to support early intervention and optimise patient outcomes.
Lead and Influence Practice
- Contribute to the development of clinical pathways, protocols, and standards of practice.
- Evaluate new interventions and recommend improvements based on evidence and research.
Educate and Support Others
- Coach, mentor, and support nursing staff across the sector.
- Provide consistent, evidence-based education for patients, whaanau, and healthcare teams.
Drive Quality and Innovation
- Participate in audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in peer review and contribute to national and local guideline development.
About You:
- NZ Registered Nurse with current Practicing Certificate
- Minimum of three years’ current cardiology experience, post registration in NZ
- Expert Level on the PDRP
- Excellent communication skills
