About the Role
As a successful Clerk in Clinical Records, you will be expected to deliver timely and accurate records and information management support services. You will play a key role in working with your peers and wider team members to provide a clinical records management service which is not limited to but includes records retrieval, filing, dispatching, storing, updating and providing to stakeholders and/or approved disposal.
Day to day you will be working with a dynamic and diverse team where patients and records always come first. You will work across varying work shifts, patterns and duties that support all clinical records services and teams. The hours of work for the Clerk’s position are rostered 80 hours per fortnight, which includes working across weekdays, afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

About the Service
The Clinical Records Clerk role provides a 24/7 – 7 day a week clinical support service (Monday - Sunday). Duties and hours are aligned to rotating shift roster (note: these hours are subject to change).
Clinical Records provides a suite of support services that include a critical clinical support service 24/7, quality and digitisation, health information disclosure and records advisory services.
Records must be reliably and readily available to stakeholders (Emergency Department, Wards, Outpatient Clinics, Auditors, Clinicians etc.) and/or the patient directly. These records must meet the requirements set out in The Public Records Act 2005 and Archives NZ standards and guidelines
About you
You will be physically fit and able to sustain a shift in this physical role handling documents and charts as well as pushing/pulling trollies, lifting and bending. You will be customer focussed with prior experience or exposure within information and records management, electronic records management, and data quality. You must have a commitment to work to a remarkably high quality and standard. Applicants need to pay attention to detail, use their initiative and work to a high degree of accuracy at pace.
Applicants will need to clearly display strengths with managing multiple tasks, conflicting priorities, stepping up to help others, and the ability to adapt at a moment’s notice. Your command of the English language must be clear and concise.
A well-honed working knowledge of computer-based systems, e.g., Microsoft Office suite and exposure or the willingness to undertake further education in relation to medical terminology is required. Previous experience with patient management software and/or systems is beneficial.
