About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Quality Coordinator to join our Mental Health & Addictions Services at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. This is a pivotal role supporting service leadership to strengthen clinical quality, safety, and continuous improvement across a complex and dynamic service environment.

You will coordinate and facilitate quality improvement initiatives, support adverse event and complaint management processes, and promote shared learning across services. This role works closely with clinical leaders, service managers, and quality teams to ensure best practice, regulatory compliance, and equitable outcomes for our communities.

Key Focus Areas:

This role has four core areas of responsibility:

  1. Adverse Events & Serious Incidents
  • Coordinate and support the management of adverse, serious, and sentinel events
  • Support investigations including HDC, Coroner, and high-risk reviews
  • Facilitate shared learning from incident reviews, SIRPs, and M&M meetings
  1. Patient Feedback & Complaints
  • Coordinate complaint investigations and draft high-quality responses
  • Ensure timely documentation and reporting in line with policy
  • Identify trends and translate feedback into service improvement actions
  1. Clinical & Quality Audits
  • Plan and conduct routine clinical and quality audits
  • Analyse findings and develop clear, practical action plans
  • Support services to implement and sustain audit outcomes
  1. Quality Improvement
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • Support and lead QI initiatives using recognised methodologies (e.g. PDSA)
  • Contribute to service planning, business plans, and certification readiness

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC
  • 5+ years post registration experience in Mental Health
  • Full and clean NZ Drivers licence
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Strong ability to analyse date and present clear, actionable insights
