About the Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to work in the context of multidisciplinary inpatient teams committed to providing excellent evidence-based biopsychosocial treatment to people with a mental health history. The position involves working with tāngata whaiora via a variety of psychological assessments, psychological therapies and other interventions.

Continuing professional development is encouraged and supported.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments including psychometric evaluations, risk assessments and therapeutic interventions.
  • Develop collaborative holistic treatment plans and provide individual and group therapy in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Develop well informed psychological formulations based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Provide clinical supervision (dependent on level of experience), consultation and advice to the multidisciplinary team
  • Engage and work collaboratively with all stakeholders, particularly tāngata whaiora and whānau.
  • Supports the pursuit of Māori health gains as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori

About you

  • Be registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board with scope of practice.
  • Have knowledge of and experience working with complex tāngata whaiora in mental health settings.
  • Support the pursuit of Māori health gains as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori.
  • Support Māori oversight and ownership of decision-making processes necessary to achieve Māori health equity.
  • Support the expression of hauora Māori models of care and mātauranga Māori.
