We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Nurse Specialist to be a part of the Community Ostomy Service (Community and Palliative Care) at Waitemata District.

This role provides in-depth patient assessments, care planning, prescribing of consumables and formal and informal education and participation in quality programs. The successful candidate will provide high-level clinical expertise in all areas of stoma management. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team working closely with the District Nursing Service and be part of a supportive and cohesive team of Nurse Specialists across community sites.

The ideal candidate will be a Nurse Specialist in Ostomy or a Level 4 Registered Nurse with a current portfolio, and a minimum of three years' district nursing experience including contemporary current practice in the management of stoma care.

As you will be relating to patients and staff at all levels, you will need to have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be able to quickly establish relationships across multiple teams role modelling our organisational values.

In addition, you are working towards or have completed a post-graduate diploma relevant to the role. Further support will be provided to further develop advanced practice skills in both areas of practice.
