About the role:
We are looking for:
- 0.4 FTE General Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Medical Oncology Infusion Service. These roles will provide clinical expertise and leadership to the oncology service. You will play a key role in advancing innovative service models while embedding equity-focused and culturally responsive practice.
This role includes:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide advanced nursing expertise and mentorship to nursing teams within SACT infusion units.
- Collaborative Care: Partner with Medical and Radiation Oncology specialists and multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to deliver integrated, patient-centred care.
- Acuity Management: Serve as the primary clinical resource for patients, whaanau, and staff when acute presentations occur within SACT units.
- Strategic Delivery: Contribute to the senior nursing leadership team to enhance regional patient flow and ensure excellence in nurse-led, "closer to home" service delivery
Essential requirements:
- Registered with the NZ Nursing Council
- A minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience in an oncology setting with knowledge in SACT, the ability to manage complex clinical presentations and adverse reactions and chemotherapy certification.
- A commitment to biculturalism and achieving equitable health outcomes for our community
- Strong communication skills with an ability to build regional relationships
- Post graduate qualifications with a commitment to ongoing education
