About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term opportunity is ideal for a senior nurse ready to take the next step in clinical leadership. Based in the Cancer Centre in Tauranga, this Clinical Nurse Specialist position plays a critical role in supporting patients and whānau through their oncology journey, while offering expert advice and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include clinical assessment, symptom management, and education to ensure patients are empowered to make informed decisions. The role requires confident autonomous decision making, strong collaborative engagement with medical and nursing teams, and a drive to improve services in response to growing demand.

About you

This role would suit a senior Registered Nurse with experience in oncology, a post-graduate qualification, and a strong foundation in service improvement and patient care. A calm, responsive approach and proven ability to collaborate across clinical teams are essential.

What you will bring:

  • Current NZNC registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Significant clinical experience in oncology or related fields
  • Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in a relevant area
  • Demonstrated leadership in clinical coordination and service improvement
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
