About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Haematology, you will lead and coordinate the nursing care of patients with haematological malignancies and chronic blood disorders across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Your role will include providing advanced clinical assessments, supporting patients through complex treatment pathways, leading nurse-led clinics, and working in partnership with Haematologists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

You’ll also contribute to service development, provide leadership and education to nursing staff, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives. This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about specialist care, patient advocacy, and making a measurable difference in patient outcomes.

Our dedicated Haematology service sits within a broader Oncology and Medical Day Stay unit. We are a passionate and collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our community, while supporting each other to grow and thrive in our clinical practice.

About you

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid APC
  • Significant clinical experience in haematology, oncology, or a related specialty
  • Postgraduate qualification in specialty nursing (or working towards it), ideally at a Master’s level
  • Excellent communication and clinical leadership skills
  • A commitment to delivering equitable, culturally safe, and person-centred care
