About the Role
As the Clinical Nurse Manager for Te Whare Awhiora, our Inpatient Mental Health Unit, you will provide clinical leadership, operational oversight, and professional support to nursing and multidisciplinary staff.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and culturally responsive care to tāngata whaiora and their whānau. You will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Service Manager to drive service improvements, support workforce development, and foster a positive team culture.

Te Whare Awhiora is the acute inpatient unit within Health NZ - Tairāwhiti’s Mental Health and Addictions Service. Our dedicated team provides high-quality, compassionate, and recovery-focused care, working in partnership with tāngata whaiora, whānau, and community services.

About you
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
- Significant clinical experience in mental health nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
- A commitment to equity, cultural safety, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing, leadership, or management are highly desirable.
