About the Role

As a Clinical Educator for the Pharmacist Facilitator Team, you’ll lead the development and delivery of education and clinical leadership for pharmacists working in primary care. This role is focused on workforce development, safe and high-quality patient care, and outcome-focused practice. You’ll identify learning needs, design and deliver training, and support consistent standards of practice across the Clinical Pharmacist workforce.

You’ll also collaborate across the health system - including NGOs, Iwi providers, and community health services - to support education and integration. This is a strategic and influential role where your expertise will help shape the future of pharmacy services and contribute to improved health outcomes for our communities.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You’ll be part of the Specialist and Community Services Group, working closely with the Clinical Pharmacist Facilitator Manager and a dedicated team of professionals based in primary care settings. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, integrated pharmacy services across the district. With strong connections to hospital pharmacy, allied health, and Māori health services, this is a collaborative environment where innovation, equity, and continuous improvement are valued.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Registration as a Pharmacist with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in a relevant clinical pharmacy role, with leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Proven commitment to quality, safety, and clinical governance.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, relationship-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a current NZ driver’s licence.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to equity and Māori health gain.
  • Desirable: Clinical Educator or postgraduate qualifications, project management skills, and experience teaching groups.
