About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering compassionate and high-quality patient care? We are looking for a dedicated Health Care Associate to join our pre and postoperative surgical team. This is a casual role offering a dynamic and rewarding environment where your contributions directly impact patient recovery and comfort.

As a Health Care Associate in our surgical services team, you will:

  • Provide direct patient care and support to individuals before and after surgery.
  • Assist with pre-operative preparations and post-operative recovery tasks.
  • Monitor patients’ condition and communicate effectively with the nursing and surgical teams.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients.
  • Support the promotion of independence, dignity, and respect in patient care.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our pre and postoperative surgery team is a close-knit, highly skilled group of nurses, health care associates, surgeons, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and supportive environment. With a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement, we work together to ensure that every patient receives safe, respectful, and compassionate care from admission to discharge. We also support ongoing staff development and value the contributions of every team member.

About you

  • Previous experience in a hospital or surgical unit is desirable.
  • Certificate or training in health care support (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, team-oriented, and proactive approach to patient care.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings.
