About the Role
We are searching for a Dental Assistant to join the Fairfield oral health team.
The position involves working in fixed clinics and on mobile dental units within Hamilton City and Huntly surrounds.
You will provide assistance with dental care to pre-school and school age children. Trainings and service needs are sometimes required within Hamilton.
Dental assistants support and assist oral health, dental therapists and community dentists in all aspects of care and clinic administration.
This position is as and when required, Monday-Friday and competitive salary rates.

Caring for the oral health of children is incredibly important for their long-term health and wellbeing and is a deeply rewarding experience to those providing care. Community Oral Health provides free oral health services for eligible children residing in the Waikato district.

About you
Required skills & experience
- NZQA certificate in Dental Assisting.
- A full NZ current driver’s licence.
- The ability to prioritise effectively.
- Good communication skills.
- Conscientious and reliable.
- Competent computer skills.
- Understanding and willingness to comply with Health New Zealand safety and infection control regulations.
The position would ideally suit someone who has had dental assistant experience or has a work history in working with children, customer service or health care.
