About the Role

As a Health Care Associate, you will support the nursing and clinical team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients at Wairoa Hospital. This casual position offers flexibility and variety – perfect if you're looking to contribute to your community, build experience in the health sector, or balance work with other commitments.

Your day will involve assisting with personal cares, patient mobility, and maintaining a clean and safe environment, all while being a vital part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team that places whānau and patient wellbeing at the centre of everything we do.

About you

As a Health Care Associate, you will bring:

  • A caring, respectful, and patient-focused attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Flexibility to work shifts across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or support role (preferred, but not essential)
  • A commitment to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and providing culturally safe care
