  • This challenging, yet fulfilling role is for a booking clerk for our Haematology service.

About the Role

As a Booking Clerk, you will deal with enquiries and clerical duties to support nursing and medical staff ensuring a patient focused approach for both patients and Whanau. While this is primarily booking patients into appointment slots, it also includes setting up clinic notes for Haematology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. You will be an integral part of the Cancer & Blood services admin team with great support from our team. Full training will be provided. He Waka Eka Noa – We are all in this together is our philosophy.

  • Provide efficient clerical support for the Cancer & Blood Services as required.
  • Provide effective and efficient management of the Booking System for Clinics and Chemo Treatment - liaise with nursing staff, booking staff, medical and other services.

About the Team/Service/Location

Two Haematologists, one registrar and one CNS for the clinical Haematology service providing clinic appointments for patients in Te Tai Tokerau. We also provide SACT for those patients currently on treatment. With the new Radiation oncology build due to open in 2026, there will be complete cancer care provided in Te Tai Tokerau – Great news for our patients!

About you

As a Booking Clerk, you will possess advanced computer proficiency, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to produce accurate and detailed documentation with a strong attention to detail.

  • Good command of verbal and written English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Organisational skills

Desired

  • Current first aid certificate
  • Awareness of Te Reo Māori
  • Healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of Patient Management System (WebPAS) and/or medical terminology
