This role:
The supra-regional Spinal Cord Impairment Unit (SCIU) at Middlemore Hospital is a 4 bedded unit embedded in Ward 11 providing speciality care for spinal cord impaired patients. The Associate Charge Nurse will work closely with the expert multi-disciplinary team of surgeons, allied health professionals and acute rehab physician and will have the responsibility of leading a small nursing team with a passion for providing care to highly complex spinal cord injury patients. We are looking for a motivated registered nurse with experience in acute orthopaedics to provide clinical leadership, preference will be given to those with recent spinal experience.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include the day to day coordination of patient care and will work closely with the Ward 11 Charge Nurse to support the on-going professional development of nurses within the team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly organised registered nurse with excellent interpersonal skills to develop their leadership and managerial skills.
Essential
- Registered Nurse with current APC
- Minimum of three years recent orthopaedic nursing experience
- Functioning at proficient or expert level on the PDRP framework
- Proven leadership and/or management experience
- Post Graduate qualification in relevant area
