Join our passionate and skilled Anaesthetic Technician team at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau as an Associate Clinical Charge Technician (ACCT) and help shape the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative care.
About the role
This is a combined clinical and leadership role where you’ll support the Anaesthetic Technician Manager and senior team to ensure the smooth operation of Anaesthetic Technician Services across Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park.
You’ll provide day-to-day clinical coordination, lead by example, and support your colleagues to deliver the best possible care for our patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical and technical support to Anaesthetists and the perioperative team
- Leading and mentoring Anaesthetic Technicians to uphold professional and quality standards
- Assisting with daily rostering, resource allocation, and operational coordination
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
- Contributing to the professional development of staff and students
- Promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning
About you
You’ll be an experienced and confident Anaesthetic Technician with strong clinical and leadership skills. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate a collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork.
Essential requirements:
- Registered Anaesthetic Technician with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute theatre environment
- Proven leadership or coordination experience
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to healthcare practice
