About the Role
As an Allied Health Assistant within the Home Loan Equipment Store, you’ll play an essential role in helping people return home safely or remain independent in their own environment. Each day is fast‑paced and varied - you might be supporting clinicians with equipment prescriptions, cleaning and maintaining mobility equipment, coordinating deliveries, or problem‑solving solutions such as ramp installations for clients.
This is a practical, hands‑on role where your initiative and adaptability will shine. You’ll work closely with a range of health professionals, contribute to smooth day‑to‑day operations, and ensure the right equipment gets to the right people at the right time. If you enjoy active work, meaningful interactions, and being part of a service that truly supports community wellbeing, this role offers plenty of purpose and satisfaction.
About the Team/Service/ Location
You’ll be joining a small, dynamic, and supportive team within Te Whata Moanarua (Allied Health Therapies), based at the Home Loan Equipment Store. The team manages short‑term loan equipment used by clinicians across the hospital and community to support safe discharge and home‑based care.
Collaboration, teamwork, and flexibility are at the heart of this service. You’ll work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, external providers, and whānau to ensure equipment is supplied, maintained, and delivered efficiently. The team culture reflects our sector values of respect, improvement, care and teamwork - all while supporting a service that makes a direct difference for people across Hawke’s Bay.
