The Opportunity:
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy team. Our population is a culturally and clinically diverse group of adults with musculoskeletal conditions including referrals from a range of hospital-based specialties and primary care.
The team forms part of the Adult Rehabilitation, Acute Allied Health Service for Counties Manukau District.
The Advanced Clinician role is a designated position that utilises advanced musculoskeletal knowledge, clinical expertise and competencies to coordinate, deliver and support professional services in one or more specialist areas. The successful applicant would be expected to set and deliver high standards of clinical practice. You will play pivotal role in service planning and development by providing clinical leadership within the team/service as well assisting in developing the clinical capability of others. It involves the supervision of rotational staff and undergraduate physiotherapy students.
You will work alongside and be professionally supported by a team including an Advanced practitioner Physiotherapist, Section Head Physiotherapist, other advanced clinicians and the Physiotherapy Professional Leader. We also have close links with the wider Allied Health team for collaboration and professional development opportunities.
The department actively encourages continuous professional development with continuous and collaborative learning through a range of opportunities including support towards post graduate qualification and research.
Essential:
- Registration with the New Zealand physiotherapy Board, with a current annual practicing certificate
- Minimum 6 years clinical experience, including 3 years full time experience in the area of orthopaedics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- Relevant post graduate qualification in advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy from NZ or overseas.
- Experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching
- Research and audit contribution
- Cultural awareness and understanding
