About the Role

We are seeking an experienced administrator with excellent customer service and verbal communications skills to join the Cancer Centre team. The role entails administration support, reception and scheduling. 

This role is responsible for the provision of high quality, accurate administration and customer service support to patients, families, health professionals and all other consumers of Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi. This role will be predominantly based in Whakatāne but may require providing cover in Tauranga at times.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Cancer Centre Administration team is an integral part of our clinical team supporting the service to achieve best practice acute care standards, quality care and performance outcomes.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4500 staff.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will be self motivated and able to work under pressure. A strong customer focus, ability to work as part of a team, flexibility and willingness to work with changing priorities are essential.

Previous administration experience, computer skills and data entry experience are also required for this role. Internal knowledge and workings of the Oncology/Haematology team would be beneficial but not essential.
