Administration & Project Coordinator - National Child Cancer Network

  • Part-time position (0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week)
  • Grafton location
  • Fixed-term position until August 2027, with the view of extension

About the role

Working as part of the National Child Cancer Network team, the Administration & Project Coordinator provides high-quality, end-to-end administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Network.

 This role is integral to a small, high-performing, and adaptable team that underpins delivery of the Network’s programme of work. The Administration & Project Coordinator works closely with the National Programme Manager, delivering comprehensive and proactive administrative and project support across all areas of the service. This includes managing day-to-day administrative requirements, coordinating key project activities, and supporting the Programme Manager, Clinical Lead, and Working Groups to operate efficiently and effectively.

The position requires an experienced administrative professional who can work autonomously, demonstrate initiative, and confidently support senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring sound judgement, discretion, and a high level of attention to detail.

 About the Team/Service/ Location

The National Child Cancer Network (NCCN) is a small, high performing team based in Grafton. The NCCN provides national oversight and clinical leadership for child cancer services in New Zealand. It brings together health professionals and stakeholder organisations to foster collaboration and unite efforts to drive service development, equity of outcomes and continual quality improvement.

The NCCN, which is hosted by Starship Children’s Health, receives its funding from and reports directly to Te Aho o Te Kahu | Cancer Control Agency.

 About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an administration role of a similar size and scope
  • Experience engaging with and supporting senior stakeholders
  • Strong meeting coordination and minute-taking skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities
  • Advanced communication skills
  • High proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive mindset with strong initiative
  • The ability to work independently while also taking direction
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support wherever needed
