About the Role

As an ACC Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our ACC contracts are delivered effectively and meet all required timeframes. You’ll help maximise revenue by monitoring approvals, maintaining accurate information, and ensuring all patient‑related activities are coded, submitted, and invoiced correctly.

This role is fast‑paced and varied - you’ll work closely with clinical teams, specialists, booking coordinators and ACC to ensure patients experience a seamless, timely service. You’ll also support staff with ACC processes, provide training where needed, and contribute to continuous improvement within the finance and administrative functions. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detail‑focused work, problem‑solving, and building strong relationships across multiple teams.

About the Team/Service/ Location

This role sits within our Finance team based at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. You’ll be part of a supportive group responsible for ensuring our ACC activity runs smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Collaboration is key - you’ll work alongside clinical staff, medical specialists, booking teams, revenue clerks and internal services across the wider organisation, as well as external partners such as ACC, accredited employers and community health providers.

About you

As our ACC Coordinator, you will bring:

  • Strong administrative capability, with excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Access and other systems).
  • Ability to analyse business processes, identify issues, and problem‑solve effectively.
  • Experience supporting others with processes, training, or upskilling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence building relationships across clinical, administrative and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise in a busy environment.
  • A high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity to the needs of patients and staff.
  • Understanding of ACC processes (desirable) and/or experience within the health sector or contract‑related work.
  • Commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and contributing positively to team culture.
