Are you ready to share your clinical expertise, knowledge and foster learning? Then consider this exciting opportunity as an Acute Care Advanced Clinician in Occupational Therapy working in the adult inpatient Occupational Therapy acute teams at Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven individual to join our acute inpatient Occupational Therapy team. As an advanced clinician, you will be providing day-to-day clinical expertise and leadership support to the Occupational Therapy team and wider IDT in close liaison with the Occupational Therapy Clinical Leaders, and Professional Clinical Leader for Occupational Therapy. You will have advanced knowledge and clinical practice within and across the patient pathway of the specialist area of Acute Care in the Medicine and Health of Older Peoples division.
You will be responsible for leading and driving current best practice , working alongside our Occupational Therapists to develop and maintain a high level of competency areas across the acute care pathway. We are looking for someone who has a passion for coaching and educating others and who strives for clinical excellence.
This role involves leading quality projects, developing and updating policies in the areas such as cognition, neurology and pressure injury management, in conjunction with our team of Advanced Clinicians and Clinical Coach. You will also provide and role model advanced assessment and intervention skills that focus on patient/whānau centred goals. An interdisciplinary team (IDT) approach forms part of the service’s framework, so effective collaboration with the IDT, as well as the ability to communicate with local and national key stakeholders is vital.
Key skills and attributes:
· New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist with a current annual practicing certificate
· Six (6) years post graduate experience with at least 3-4 years in the area of specialty
· Proven clinical leadership within area of speciality
· Ability to maintain a complex caseload to high standard
· ICU experience, particularly with post-operative management of tracheostomy
· WMPL1 accreditation
· Experience in leading innovation and quality improvement, research and audit contribution
· Highly organised and self-motivated.
