About the Role

  • Gain exposure to all required CICM training specialities and sub-specialties, with opportunities for allocations for your medical and anaesthesia time
    • Cardiothoracic, neuro, burns, trauma, paediatrics
    • Experience with thoracic and all solid organ transplants
    • Auckland has the only specialised PICU in Aotearoa NZ
    • We have a collaborative relationship with units in other centres able to provide rural ICU training time as well as other specialty experience (such as anaesthesia); particularly Whangarei in sunny Northland

About the Team/Service/ Location

  • Training and education
    • Unit weekly teaching programs
    • Regional ICM weekly teaching program
    • Part I and II written and clinical preparation programs and support
    • Regional ICM community presentation sessions – with trainee presentations, Intensivist presentations, followed by social activities
  • Support with a Regional Mentoring Program

About you

·       Preferred experience: At least 2 years’ postgraduate clinical experience. Acute care, anaesthesia, or intensive care experience desirable but not essential.

·       Eligibility for general scope registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
