The Opportunity:

Our goal is to turn the Counties Manukau District’s vision of achieving health equity into a reality, by delivering the right care, at the right time, and in the right place, for our community. We have the largest Pacific and second largest Maaori populations in New Zealand ages spanning across the spectrum.

Based at Middlemore Hospital, an amazing opportunity is waiting for you in our 14-bed inpatient Medicine ward for your initial location. This ward will extend medicine inpatient bed capacity over winter and involve an exciting new approach with a shorter stay model of care. This ward will work collaboratively with the wider division in providing excellence for patients throughout their inpatient journey. We are looking for a self-motivated team player, who possesses the ability to work autonomously and can think critically. Your excellent communication skills and passion for patient centred care will be welcomed. Following the end of winter this ward is planned to merge into a permanent further full medicine ward to complete the medicine inpatient expansion here at Counties.

Salaries are based on the NZNO Collective Agreement Registered Nurse Scale

About you:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate
  • 1+ years acute experience in a large hospital environment in NZ (post registration)
  • Excellent communication skills
