The Role:

We are seeking a senior nurse with experience, skill and vision to take on this dynamic role. The Nurse Consultant – Surgical, Anaesthesia and Perioperative Services will have a passion for supporting our nursing workforce to strengthen and improve the professional standards and quality of care provided across the division of surgery. This is an exciting and expanding time in our health environment and this role will showcase clinical expertise, relationship management and support strategic pieces of work across the surgical division at Counties Manukau. This is a senior nursing role reporting to the Clinical Nurse Director – Surgical, Anaesthesia and Perioperative Services. You will play a key role in supporting nursing leaders across the division by providing expert clinical advice, leadership, and guidance to support a high standard of professional and evidence based practice across the division.

We are seeking an organised and capable candidate with strong relational skills and an ability to connect data, a clinical view and evidence based practice to problem solving and improving the efficiency of services. You will need to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders throughout the surgical division and across Counties Manukau.

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant clinical experience in NZ
  • Proven nursing leadership/management experience
  • Post Graduate Diploma with Masters qualification completed or in progress
  • Familiarity with Human Resources, recruitment and organisational processes.
