Are you a Psychiatrist who is passionate about young people, early intervention and recovery-focused care?
Join our established Early Psychosis Intervention Team (EPIT) and play a key role in supporting young adults experiencing their first episode of psychosis.
This is an opportunity to work in a genuinely multidisciplinary and collaborative team, alongside:

What you'll do
As a Psychiatrist, you will:
Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment using Early Intervention principles
Contribute to the clinical leadership of the team
Work collaboratively with young people, families and whānau
Participate in community-based assessments and care planning
Liaise closely with inpatient and community mental health services
Support culturally responsive, recovery-oriented care

About EPIT
- Our service supports young adults under 30 years experiencing a first episode of psychosis, as well as people presenting with an At-Risk Mental State.
- We work closely with primary care and community mental health services and incorporate vocational, AOD, peer-support and culturally responsive approaches into our model of care.
- Located in South Auckland, you’ll have the opportunity to work within one of New Zealand's most vibrant and culturally diverse communities.
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience in Community Mental Health
An interest or experience in Early Intervention / Youth Mental Health
A strong commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork
Experience working with diverse populations, including Māori, Pacific and refugee communities
Eligibility for vocational registration with MCNZ
A current MCNZ Annual Practising Certificate
This role is a Core Children's Worker under the Children's Act and requires full safety checks before commencement.
