The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Psychologist to join our Critical Care Complex team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable real-world clinical experience within a highly specialised and supportive multidisciplinary environment.

The Critical Care Complex forms part of Middlemore Hospital located in South Auckland. The service includes both intensive care and high dependency patients. Our Critical Care Complex has 25 beds, with four dedicated paediatric ICU bed spaces. Our unit is recognised for its state-of-the-art equipment, modern facilities, and strong team culture.

You will work with a diverse and complex caseload of both adult and paediatric patients from the Counties Manukau District area. The service also specialises in plastic surgical patients from across the Auckland region, burns patients from throughout New Zealand and the Pacific, and spinal injury patients from the upper North Island. Working within this team provides exposure to a varied and rewarding case mix in a collaborative setting where dedicated medical staff work closely alongside experienced nursing and allied health professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and their whaanau.

Essential:

  • Eligible to register or registered with the NZ Psychologists Board
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
  • A minimum 12 months practical experience
  • Full, clean driver’s licence
