Are you a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker looking for a rewarding role in maternity care? Join our dynamic team at Middlemore Hospital, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting expectant and new mothers, babies, and families during one of the most critical times in their lives.
As a Social Worker in our Maternity Ward, you will provide emotional and practical support to women and families facing complex social, emotional, or financial challenges. You will work alongside midwives, obstetricians, and mental health professionals to ensure that vulnerable mothers and newborns receive the care, resources, and advocacy they need.
Your understanding of health and disability issues together with sound counselling skills will enable you to work with patients and their families/whaanau in a therapeutic and holistic way.
Essential:
- Registered with the NZ Social Work Registration Board and hold a current APC
- High level of verbal and written interpersonal skills
Desired:
- Social Work experience in a heath environment or Statutory Agency
- Knowledge of community agencies and networks
