About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN with relevant knowledge and skill as a PACU nurse to further develop their clinical leadership and expertise in this field of nursing.
Supported by a dedicated team of PACU nurses, the CSN position is a busy and challenging role involving the leadership and coordination of PACU resources and patient flow through PACU. Ensuring timely patient care, monitoring patient length of stay along with clinical support for the PACU team, are strong aspects of this role.
The PACU department is a 23-bedded unit, servicing 14 operating theatres and anaesthetic procedures, supporting a wide variety of acute, elective and trauma surgeries. This is your chance to be a part of the PACU team at Middlemore Hospital providing a high level of leadership and professional role modelling, demonstrating your advanced clinical skills and optimising PACU utilisation and efficiency with guidance and direction from your ACNM.
Essential
- Registered Nurse / Registered Comprehensive Nurse qualification
- A minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience in PACU
- Current, Level 3 or 4 PDRP
- Evidence of expertise in setting standards and managing practice to achieve these
- Experience with supporting and/or driving quality initiatives
- A commitment to on-going training
- Proven ability to negotiate and motivate staff to excel
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Desired
- Post Graduate qualification in relevant specialty area
- Experience coordinating and leading clinical teams
