About the Role
Mangere Refugee Health Service provides primary care and other services at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa (formerly known as the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre). This is a unique opportunity to work with Quota Refugees, in a new service, and provide health care to a population with complex and chronic health needs. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Administrator to contribute to the overall patient experience and support the operation of the Mangere Refugee Health Service. You often be the first point of contact with refugees and thus pivotal in ensuring positive first interaction. You will also co-ordinate the services and have a major role to play in prioritising workflows and managing patient expectations. The Clinical Administrator may work at reception, on specific administrative tasks or support the operation of clinics at the centre. The role requires the administrator to have a focus on accurate data-entry, and as the role has visibility of sensitive information, a high standard of care is expected.
About You
You will be a strong administrator who works effectively in a team and have the ability to work flexibly and innovatively. Ideally you will have experience working with refugees and a strong understanding of their health needs with experience as an administrator within a general practice or urgent care clinic. The position will work with refugees to enable them to build trust and confidence in the NZ Health System.
- At least 2-3 years administrative experience in health, ideally with experience in a general practice or urgent care clinic
- Experience working with patients, ideally with culturally diverse and/or refugee populations
- Ability to work flexibly and innovatively, and in partnership with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive friendly and empathic approach
The salary range is dependent on skills and experience and will be paid in line with the National Administration Collective agreement.
