Join us to lead our Recruitment & Allocation team, passionate about making positive contributions to our healthcare work force.

About the role

Leading a team of consultants and coordinators you will drive recruitment, training allocation and onboarding of RMO (junior doctor) workforce within the Auckland region of Health New Zealand I Te Whatu Ora.

This role is more than just a standard recruitment position – you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our hospitals are staffed with work ready medical professionals, balancing individual RMO training needs with service delivery and care priorities across our regional hospitals.  This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, negotiating and making strategic decisions in a fast paced complex environment.

With an improvement focus, a key part of the role is to look for opportunities, develop and embed simplified and streamlined process to improve the experience for our RMOs while ensuring regional and national consistency.

As a leadership role you will need to support and coach your team, work very closely with senior stakeholders including senior clinicians and other third-party providers; to help deliver best practice Junior doctor recruitment and allocations.

The team leader role is a key member of our workforce operations team leadership group. You will work closely with other Team Leaders and Managers and a team of direct reports that are passionate about what they do for the Auckland region population’s health care.

About you

This is a fast paced and exciting environment - lateral thinking and an analytical mind-set, along with super organisational skills are critical.

  • You will be strong in relationship building and management, have exceptional communication skills and will be a team player who is able to inspire others. 
  • You are able to think through complex issues with a solution focus and you will coach and lead your team to deliver agreed outputs in a timely manner.
  • You will have natural curiosity, and a continuous improvement outlook focused on improving the experiences of your key stakeholders and have experience in management and delivery of projects.
  • A solid career background in end-to-end recruitment or HR operations and previous experience leading high volume administration or recruitment campaigns
  • Strong ability to influence and an agile and adaptable approach to problem solving
  • A background within the health sector would be ideal, but not mandatory
