Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are looking experienced NZ Registered Physiotherapists to work on our Mana Awhi  - Older People’s Health wards. We have opportunities for full time or part time roles either fixed term or permanent based at Auckland Hospital

Mana Awhi - Older Peoples' Health is a service with a holistic focus on the health of older people. We provide a comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary and restorative approach for older adults. This is more than what is traditionally regarded as rehabilitation.

This role will also see you performing the below duties:

  • Manage a clinical caseload in one of our 4 mana awhi wards to provide rehabilitation to older adults
  • Work collaboratively within an multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and treatment plans.
  • Participate in our weekend and on-call roster

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Experience level: Ideally have 3+ years post-graduate experience including clinical experience in rehabilitation
  • Significant experience working in the hospital or community setting
  • A flexible, pro-active and can-do approach with experience supporting staff and students
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • Evidence of establishing and developing working relationships within the wider MDT
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a bicultural environment and knowledge of the acute hospital environment

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical MECA 2018-2020)

Salary Range: Step 1 $70842 to Step 10 $109000 (depending on experience)
