Kāinga Tiaki Centre is looking for an experienced registered nurse, social worker or occupational therapist to join our well established and innovative community mental health team in Mt Eden. This is a permanent full or part time role.
Kāinga Tiaki Centre is based in the Eden Terrace, right next to Maungawhau Train Station We are a welcoming, supportive centre with a wealth of collective experience and lots of goodwill.
Kāinga Tiaki Centre provides a multi-disciplinary, recovery focussed service for clients living in Central Auckland. You will be part of a dedicated service, supporting excellent clinical care, while developing your existing Mental Health knowledge and clinical skills in an established and multidisciplinary work environment.
As a referrals management clinician, you will have clinical responsibility for facilitating and managing tangata whai i te ora access to the range of Community Mental Health clinical services (CMHS). This includes dealing with enquiries from the public and referrers, managing referrals, undertaking assessments and the provision of general liaison between CMHS, GP’s, other health services and social agencies.
As a Key Worker in a care and recovery team you will have clinical responsibility to utilise your knowledge and skills to assess all complex health needs of the tangata whai i te ora providing care and advice that supports them to manage their overall healthcare needs. You will support the tangata whai i te ora to coordinate their mental health needs
To meet the needs of tangata whai i te ora/ clients/ family / whānau using contemporary care that is safe, appropriate, and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and tangata whai i te ora centred, culturally sensitive and evidence-based. You will provide active collaboration, planning and liaison with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), general practitioner (GP) and any other health care providers, including NGOs and inpatient, to enable them to perform their duties to their optimum. You may practice in a variety of clinical contexts to provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic treatment options which can occur in a range of community settings this will be done in partnership with the service user, their families/whānau and communities.

We are seeking an experienced NZ Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational therapist with a practising certificate.
Our ideal candidate will have a high level of time management and organisational skills whilst demonstrating clinical skills in working with people from a range of cultural backgrounds in a Mental Health setting.
We are looking for a registered health professional with a breadth of experience in a Community Mental Health setting.
As this role is community based, a full and clean NZ driver's licence is essential.
