Are you passionate about improving youth health in the Auckland district?
We are looking for a youth-friendly nurse to deliver high quality, effective and safe service to high school youth enrolled in the Enhanced School Based Health Services (ESBHS) schools. Your key area of responsibility will be the Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora - Auckland District Enhanced School Based Health Services Programme.
About the role
This 0.4FTE role will include running a nurse-led school health clinic and roaming to other ESBHS school clinics within the Auckland District to work alongside the nurses there, with a base at Greenlane Clinical Centre. This role is shared with another 0.6FTE youth health nurse
You will be youth-friendly, engaging and enthusiastic with a passion for improving health outcomes for youth. You will work in collaboration with a range of stakeholders such as school management, General Practitioners, clinical psychology staff, Primary Health Organisations and Non-Government Organisations, to provide best practice clinical services across the Programme.
At a minimum you must be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate, a minimum of five years experience, be a highly skilled communicator, strong clinical skills exemplify lifelong learning and have strong youth health nursing skills - particularly in the context of school based health care nursing. Holding a Post-graduate Diploma in Youth Health Nursing and/or be on a post-graduate pathway would be an advantage.
