Violence Intervention Programme Coordinators – Child Protection and Family Violence.

About the Role

We are looking for two dynamic and strength based health professionals to join our Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) team: We have a role for a Child Protection Coordinator and a role for a Family Violence Coordinator.

These roles total 1.6 FTE. There may be some flexibility in how the fte is split across the positions. We will consider a minimum of 06fte-1.0fte per role. Please state which position you are applying for and fte preferred in your cover letter.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You’ll be part of a national Ministry of Health initiative that supports clinicians to understand the importance of routine enquiry and supports clinicians in navigating the complexities and response to family violence and child protection concerns. These roles are based at Waitakere Hospital.

About you

You are strength-based, passionate, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of tamariki, whānau, and the wider community. You bring:

· A deep understanding of the dynamics of child abuse and family violence, gained in both hospital and community settings.

· Experience in delivering training and supporting clinical teams with empathy and confidence.

· Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

· Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

· A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across services and disciplines.

· Previous experience in child protection and family violence intervention is required.

 -Tertiary qualification in social work, nursing or relevant equivalent qualification in a relatable health field of practice

- Current New Zealand registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) appropriate to the registered health 
practitioner qualification
