About the Role
This trainee role offers hands-on experience in our busy ultrasound departments, where you will develop your skills and knowledge in a wide range of examinations including general, obstetric, paediatric, vascular, and some musculoskeletal imaging.
Training will be conducted under supervision at both North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals. Upon successful completion of the programme, it is expected that you will take up a Sonographer position and continue your career within the Waitematā District.

About You
To be considered, you must either be eligible to enrol or already enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Ultrasound at the University of Auckland. You must also be available to attend the 6-week on-campus intensive course.
This full-time role begins in Semester 1, 2026, and requires you to balance clinical work with academic study. Most of your course work will need to be completed outside of working hours, so strong time-management and commitment are essential.
