About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic; energetic and pro-active Therapy Assistant(s) to work with our therapy teams. This role is in the inpatient and community setting and will be based out of Taranaki Base Hospital.
We are seeking someone with experience and knowledge or training in the Health-Sector.
Therapy Assistants work with Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy and Speech Language Therapist to provide assistance to patients in the form of intervention under the direction/supervision of the therapist. This may be through execution of an exercise programme or task, or provision of equipment. There are some administration, cleaning and clerical components of the role but it largely involves face to face patient contact.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of 8 therapy assistants work across the inpatient wards at Taranaki Base and Hawera Hospital. They work directly with patients under the supervision/direction of therapists.
This position is based in New Plymouth and is one of 6 Therapy Assistant positions at Taranaki Base Hospital.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need
- Experience in, or Qualification in a relevant health care field
- A passion for working in health and especially in the inpatient setting
- A problem-solving approach
- Desire to learn
- Have excellent communication skills to work with other staff and patients
- Have excellent computer skills
- Have a current valid work Visa allowing you to live and work in NZ
