Join our dedicated Gastroenterology team and play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality patient care through the processing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices and endoscopes.
About the Role
As a Gastroenterology SSD Technician, you’ll contribute to the efficient running of our Sterile Supply Department. You’ll be responsible for decontamination, inspection, testing, and storage of equipment in line with AS/NZS 4187:2014 and GENCA guidelines. Working closely with nursing, technical, and clinical teams, you’ll help maintain the highest standards of infection control and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, and process endoscopes and reusable medical devices
- Maintain accurate quality control and documentation
- Liaise with suppliers and staff to ensure equipment availability
- Support ongoing improvements in infection control and sterilisation processes
- Uphold cultural safety and health & safety standards
About You
You’ll bring:
- Experience in a health or laboratory setting
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- A team-focused attitude and commitment to quality service
- Physical fitness to meet the role’s demands (standing, lifting, etc.)
- Willingness to complete Level 3 Sterilising Technology qualification within 3 years
