About the role
The Starship Children’s Emergency team is looking for a motivated and efficient Team Administrator to join the only dedicated ED in the country designed exclusively for the needs of children. The Team Administrator provides excellent clerical support for both reception service and the multidisciplinary team in the Children’s Emergency Department of Starship Children’s Health, ensuring excellent customer service provision and integral support functions to the Department’s workflow.
About the Team
The Starship Children’s Emergency Department is the only dedicated Emergency Department in New Zealand designed to focus exclusively on the needs of children. We specialise in meeting the needs of acutely ill or injured children and young people ranging from birth to 15 years of age and we see approximately 40,000 children and young people per year.
About you
We welcome applications from those with:
- Proven administrative experience at least for 2 years ideally from a hospital setting
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of in-house systems
- Proven MS Office capability including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong organisational skills and a commitment to quality healthcare
- The ability to communicate and connect well with others, and build working relationships
- A basic understanding of medical terminology (desired)
- Knowledge of health information systems (desired)
