About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Administration Support professional to join TamaAriki Ora, Starship’s Māori Leadership Office.
This role provides high quality administrative and coordination support to TamaAriki Ora, helping ensure the office is organised, connected, responsive and operating effectively. You will play an important role in maintaining the internal rhythm of TamaAriki Ora, supporting communications, maintaining systems and processes, and contributing to effective service delivery.
This is a varied role requiring someone who is proactive, organised and able to anticipate what is needed, manage competing priorities and work with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
This is a non-clinical, non-patient-facing role based within a healthcare environment.

Starship Child Health is a dedicated tertiary and quaternary healthcare service and major teaching centre, committed to providing mokopuna-centric, whānau-focused and whānau-led care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and is the only comprehensive children’s hospital in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 1 million children.
TamaAriki Ora - Starship Māori Leadership Office, is a key part of the Senior Leadership Team at Starship Child Health and is at the forefront of transforming child health outcomes through the integration of indigenous science, cultural leadership, and biomedical excellence. We are committed to embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi across our systems, dismantling structural inequities, and ensuring equitable health outcomes for mokopuna throughout Aotearoa.
As the Administrator, you will be an important part of enabling this mahi through strong, reliable and culturally responsive administration and coordination.
About you
You will be a proactive, highly organised and adaptable administrator who is confident working in a fast-paced environment and supporting senior leaders.
You will also bring:
- Proven administrative experience, ideally within a complex or healthcare environment
- Strong organisational, coordination and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing and changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and managing systems and processes
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our oligations, and a commitment to supporting equitable outcomes
Desirable
- Understanding of tikanga Māori and te reo Māori, or a willingness to learn and develop
- Active within your own whānau, hapū, iwi systems
- Experience supporting Māori health or Māori leadership
- Experience using Health New Zealand systems
