About the Role
Our busy team at Sterile Science Service (SSS) is responsible for the reprocessing of all Reusable Medical Devices (also known as instruments) that are used in theatres, wards and clinics, to provide safe patient care.
SSS operates 24/7 from two sites servicing 40 plus operating theatres along with numerous wards, clinics and departments. We reprocess over hundred thousand instrument units annually, used for over 45,000 surgical procedures in different locations, every year. Our diverse, multi-cultural team plays a critical role in delivering the final quality outputs.
In this role you will be responsible for the preparation of high level disinfected semi-critical devices (endoscopes), sterile instruments, supplies and equipment for use in medical and surgical procedures. You will operate washers, sterilisers, Automated Flexible Endoscopic Reprocessor (AFER), and perform technical and mechanical work in the inspection, decontamination, servicing of instruments and equipment.
We will provide a fully comprehensive training programme. To support you in your learning, you will be expected to the Level 4 Sterilisation qualification in Sterilising Technology. About you
We are looking for highly motivated and hard-working people with a positive attitude to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- Completed NCEA Level 3 Or High school equivalent
- Ability to work on a rotational basis shift, as well as some weekend work at times
- Ability to successfully complete the Level 4 Certificate in Sterilization Technology within 2 years
- Demonstrate good communication skills and attention to details
- Demonstrate flexibility, and physically fit
