About this Role
We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate General Radiologist to join our dedicated Radiology team at Waikato Hospital. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a service that makes a real difference in the lives of our patients and communities.
In this role, you’ll be interpreting and reporting a wide range of complex clinical cases—CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and MRI—across both general and acute settings. Sub specialty interests are supported and you will have the opportunity for further development.
You will participate in multidisciplinary meetings and also play a key role in registrar education and help shape the ongoing development of excellence within our department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting radiologic studies with precision and care
- Supervising and mentoring registrars
- Active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings

Waikato Hospital is a tertiary training hospital and Level 1 Trauma Centre, serving one of the busiest regions in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our Radiology Department performs over 200,000 examinations annually, with a strong focus on Emergency, Trauma, and Oncology imaging.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience in a wide scope and across all modalities of diagnostic radiology
- Eligibility for registration in the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Scope of Practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- A subspecialty fellowship or strong interest in developing in a subspeciality are
