Specialist Eating Disorders Clinician

- Permanent full-time or part time positions available with flexible working hours (Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm).
- We are seeking passionate and skilled clinicians to join our team across multiple locations — including our main site in Hamilton, as well as outreach clinics in Thames and Te Awamutu.

About the Role
We are searching for registered health practitioners - Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nurses with mental health experience who are interested in joining our team. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in providing evidence based, whanau inclusive treatment to tangata whaiora with eating disorders as well as participate in research activities, group work, teaching and training. We do not expect all applicants to have experience in the eating disorders field but experience in mental health and a willingness to learn is vital. We have positions available in Hamilton as well as Thames and Te Awamutu.

About the Team
The Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) is part of the Adult Mental Health and Addictions Service, which means we primarily work with whaiora aged 18 and over. We are a passionate multi-disciplinary team providing evidence-based, whānau-inclusive treatment and support to tangata whaiora experiencing complex and severe eating disorders.
Our team works holistically alongside our clients, their whānau, and wider communities. In addition to our clinical work, we lead the Te Manawa Taki Regional Specialist Eating Disorder Hub and are responsible for supporting the development and enhancement of eating disorder services across the five Districts within the Te Manawa Taki Region.

About you
As a specialist eating disorders clinician and a member of the SEDS team you will need:
- An annual practicing certificate from the appropriate registration board.
- A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Experience working effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, particularly Māori and Pasifika communities and their whānau.
- Experience, or a strong interest, in working with clients and families affected by eating disorders and/or other mental health challenges.
- The ability to contribute positively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it appropriately.
