About the Role

We are a close-knit team of six sonographers based in a modern three-room department. In addition to our hospital service, we also provide a fly-in, fly out ultrasound service to support our rural communities. There are plans to further expand are services into the community through a satellite clinic in the future.
The hospital provides ultrasound services to a population of approximately 180,000 with referrals from both the community and hospital settings. We offer a broad range of examinations including general, MSK obstetric and gynaecological and vascular ultrasound.

You’ll be part of a dynamic ultrasound department with a varied and interesting caseload, including:
- General
- Obstetrics
- Paediatric
- Vascular
- Musculoskeletal
About the Team/Service/ Location
Hawke’s Bay Medical Imaging services cover all of Hawke’s Bay with sites at Hastings, Napier, Central Hawke’s Bay and Wairoa. This role will be based at the Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
We are a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment that delivers urgent and planned care to the population of Hawke’s Bay. No two days are the same in our busy service.
We are a multi-cultural team consisting of Radiologists, Medical Imaging Technologists, Nurses, Administration and Booking staff and Orderlies. You will be joining a collaborative and supportive team that values clear communication, adaptability, and a proactive approach.

About you
Skills we are looking for;
- Qualified Sonographer with general and obstetric experience (vascular experience preferred or willingness to train in vascular imaging )
- Holds a qualification recognised by the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board
- Current Annual Practising Certificate
- Passion for teaching, learning, and teamwork
