About the Role
Rotorua Ultrasound Department is located in the heart of the North Island’s adventure region with plentiful cafes, outdoor activities such as mountain biking, white water rafting and tramping within an easy drive to the Bay of Plenty beaches and Taupo ski fields.
Te Whatu Ora is looking for a full time (40 hours per week) Sonographer position with the successful applicant working with a small energetic Ultrasound team within a busy regional hospital. The team perform a range of routine and acute imaging covering both in and outpatients. Currently the service is provided from the Rotorua site only. A successful Capex programme would see a service at Taupo Hospital satellite site being offered in the future.

An interest in or experience with learning and support for any future trainee sonographers would be an advantage.

About you
As a Sonographer you will need the following professional requirements:
- Medical Radiation Technologists Board MRTB recognised Medical Ultrasound qualification and post graduate clinical experience.
- Registration with New Zealand MRT Board with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work within a positive environment where work/life balance is valued.
- Work with diagnostic Ultrasound team and also be able to work in a more autonomous scanning role when on call or covering leave
- Professional development and CPD is encouraged and supported.
