Social Worker - PPPR Specialist

About the Role
As a Social Worker - PPPR Specialist, you will provide expertise and act as a key resource in regard to Protection of Personal and Property Rights (PPPR) Act 1988. The successful candidate will act as a clinical leader by providing consultation, support, education and mentorship across the whole organisation and community-wide health services covered by Health NZ Te Tai Tokerau to staff who work with whanau who require actions that fall under the PPPR Act 1988.

About the Team/Service/Location
The Social Worker – PPPR Specialist is part of the social work department based in physical health in Whangārei. You will lead and contribute to the development and implementation of clinical pathways, protocols, and guidelines while you evaluate and improve service delivery through audit, research, and service development.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working with individuals and families with diverse needs and be an effective communicator with a high level of interpersonal skills.
- A recognised tertiary degree based allied health qualification – profession specific
- New Zealand Registration and current annual practising certificate with NZ Social Workers Registration Board
- Current full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
- At least 7 years’ experience as a Social Worker
- Demonstrated clinical leadership in current or previous roles
- Evidence of previous experience in research and/or auditing
Whilst not essential, the skills/experience listed below are desired.
- Relevant clinical post graduate certificate/diploma (PG Dip) or equivalent
- Completed or actively pursuing recognised supervision training and/or clinical leadership training
- Proven leadership skills of a team
- At least four years in clinical speciality area
- Advanced knowledge of the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988
