About the Role

As a Social Worker at Kaitaia Hospital, you will provide safe, clinically effective assessment and intervention, guided by professional practice standards and growth frameworks. Responsibility will focus on delivering person- and whānau-centred care that achieves meaningful outcomes, while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Kaitaia Hospital is Health New Zealand’s northernmost hospital. It is a general hospital serving a widely scattered population. The 20 bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and emergency ward with all the supporting services, and provides a substantial community health service.

About you

We are looking for a qualified Social Worker, who is passionate about delivering patient centred care. You will bring strong clinical skills, cultural competence and a collaborative approach to your work.

  • Recognised Social Work qualification with a current NZ annual practicing certificate
  • Current, full NZ Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated awareness of cultural, social and ability differences and their implications for practise
  • Experience in psychosocial assessment, risk management, and intervention planning
