About the Role

The Service Manager provides leadership in operationalising the implementation of transformational service change programmes across inpatient and community services and specialty services throughout the Waikato District and gives direction to the achievement of continuous and sustainable improvement and ongoing line management of mental health services.

About the Service

Joining a leadership team with a wealth of both professional (discipline specific) and operational experience, the Waikato Mental Health and Addictions Service works in partnership with other Health NZ services, NGO providers and wider social sector organisations to provide support to tangata whaiora from the Coromandel Peninsular to Tokoroa in the south. Our Service Managers have day to day operational responsibility for strengthening those partnerships and leading our clinical teams.

 

About you

As a Service Manager, you will:

  • Capture the confidence of our staff and service users through ongoing change processes
  • demonstrate exceptional leadership, vision and ability to convert strategy into operations
  • manage and motivate staff within your directorate
  • develop strong working relationships and partnerships with multiple stakeholders across the Waikato District, Te Manawa Taki Region and New Zealand that will benefit our service users, their whanau and our community partners.

To achieve the outcomes required from this critically important role, a post graduate qualification in health or management or equivalent demonstrated knowledge/experience essential; as is knowledge and provision of secondary and tertiary mental health care, and extensive experience of complex structural and process change.
