About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Service Manager – Obstetrics & Gynaecology to lead one of our most impactful clinical services at Middlemore Hospital. This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape service delivery, influence system-level change, and drive innovation in women’s health.

As a senior leader, you will provide both strategic and operational oversight, working in partnership with clinical and operational teams to deliver a high-performing, patient-centred service. You will lead with vision and integrity, cultivating a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement, and equitable outcomes across the Counties Manukau region.

Reporting directly to the General Manager – Women’s Health, you will play a key role in the ongoing development of the service — championing collaboration, upholding values of compassion and accountability, and ensuring care is aligned with the diverse needs of our communities.

About You

With a strong sense of equity and service, you bring the insight and capability needed to navigate complexity and inspire high-performing teams.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in large, dynamic healthcare settings, with a strong track record of driving operational excellence and delivering results in complex environments.
  • At least five years of senior management experience, including strategic oversight of people, financials, and service delivery at scale.
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformational change, engaging stakeholders, and aligning multidisciplinary teams to achieve sustained improvements in care delivery.
  • A deep commitment to health equity, including advancing culturally safe, inclusive, and responsive care for diverse populations.
  • A strategic and collaborative mindset, grounded in empathy, integrity, and a relentless focus on outcomes that matter to patients, whānau, and communities.
