Senior Community Speech Language Therapist - Kaiwhakatikatika i te Reo Kōrero

0.8 FTE position (32 hours) – Early Discharge and Rehabilitation Service

North Shore, Waitakere and Rodney communities
Health New Zealand - Waitematā ($117,420 - $122,570 depending on experience)
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced, enthusiastic, person with a commitment to patient centred care to work within our community interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. You would be based in our community teams North, servicing North Shore, Rodney, and Waitakere areas. This exciting service offers both Early Supported Discharge and Community-based comprehensive, co-ordinated, interdisciplinary rehabilitation for adults, which has been shown to have excellent patient outcomes. 
We are seeking an experienced practitioner, who demonstrates strong professional collegial relationships, leadership skills, excellent organisational skills, and has experience supporting junior staff and/or students. You should be someone who shows commitment to evidence informed practice, patient centred care, passion for a rehabilitation approach and inter-disciplinary teamwork. We use up-to-date technology to ensure we work efficiently in the community, including the use of smart devices and Telehealth. You should ideally have videofluoroscopy experience and experience working with therapy assistants to support your intervention for adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties.
In this role, you will be working alongside another SLT and as part of the supportive tight knit inter-disciplinary team you will employ collaborative approaches to practice and demonstrate strong cultural awareness. We have interdisciplinary meetings every Tuesday morning, which all team members must attend.
Essential Qualifications:
• New Zealand professional qualification in Speech-Language Therapy, or NZSTA approval of overseas qualification 
• NZSTA membership
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• A minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience, preferably with at least 2 years working in a rehabilitation environment with adults.
